Sealing Solutions for Valves in Food Processing
Seals are paramount to ensure product integrity and operational efficiency. They must be robust, hygienic and ensure a tight fit to prevent leakage, contamination, or undesired mixing of ingredients. This safeguards product quality and minimizes wastage. Additionally, ease of maintenance and replacement of seals is crucial to reduce downtime and production interruptions.

O-Ring
O-Rings can be used in slow rotating and oscillating applications and are ideal in butterfly valves. They effectively prevent leakage of the food product to the stem to maintain efficient valve performance.
Back-up Ring
In butterfly valves, Back-up Rings are installed alongside O-Rings to increase the sealing element's pressure resistance and service life. They are available in multiple designs and materials to match the operating conditions.
Turcite® Slydring® Wear Ring
Situated along the stem of the valve, Slydring® wear rings protect stem seals from contamination and optimize the butterfly valve’s performance by preventing metal-to-metal contact between the stem and the shaft. They absorb transverse loads and prevent stick-slip in the application due to their low-friction properties.
Turcon® Variseal® M2
Mounted along the valve stem, Turcon® Variseal® M2 prevents leakage of the food product. The unique design, paired with our proprietary Turcon® polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), enables smooth opening and closing of the valve, which conserves energy when powered by an actuator.
This seal is exceptionally durable when exposed to various liquids and chemicals and is suitable for medium and high-pressure environments. HiClean™ and Ultra-Clean™ versions are available when the ultimate in cleanliness is required.
Turcite® Slydring® Wear Ring
Situated along the stem of the valve, Slydring® wear rings protect stem seals from contamination and optimize ball valve performance by preventing metal-to-metal contact between the stem and the shaft. They absorb transverse loads and, due to their low-friction properties, prevent stick-slip in the application.
