In addition to its use as a hard plastic, polyester can be extruded into fibers that can be used to make textiles.
Polyester fibers were a particular revolution in clothing manufacturing because of their strength, durability, and most notably, comfort.
They are also very cheap to manufacture and are often used to recreate designer clothing styles to sell at a very low cost.
Articles made out of polyester, including plastic bottles, can be recycled and converted into yarn for making textiles.
