The Solidarity Tower Co-op, a 26-story apartment building in the Canadian city of Windsor, Ontario, was facing a significant issue: a severely corroded vertical stack drain system. The cast iron pipes, ranging between 3 to 4 inches in diameter and varying in size throughout the building, had deteriorated over time.
The traditional solution – replacing the entire pipe system – would involve breaking through walls in multiple apartments, causing extensive disruption to residents, inflating costs, and potentially jeopardizing the building's structural integrity.

The solution: Leveraging Trelleborg’s comprehensive product range

Aqua Tech and Trelleborg devised a strategy to reline the building's vertical stack pipes without invasive demolition. The project involved installing a 100-foot liner per shot across 12 floors at a time, with each installation requiring the precise opening of 12 service connections after the liner had been cured.
To achieve these results, a diverse range of Trelleborg products were utilized. The solution combined multiple consumable materials, such as:
