Celebrating World Environment Day

Trelleborg was reminded that its dedication to sustainability is not just a response to global challenges but a core aspect of its business strategy while celebrating World Environment Day on 5 June 2024.

The company has set ambitious sustainability targets that reflect its commitment to the planet. By 2030, it aims to:

  1. Halve direct and indirect CO2 emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2)
  2. Reduce CO2 emissions along the value chain (Scope 3) by 25%

These goals are in line with and approved by the Science Based Targets initiative, ensuring Trelleborg’s progress toward reducing carbon emissions is transparent and contributes to limiting global warming to 1.5 °C. One example of how the company will achieve these goals is by increasing the proportion of renewable/fossil-free electricity, which is now over 90%.

Group Sustainability Manager, Anna Yelistratova, emphasizes, “Environmental sustainability is at the core of Trelleborg’s operations. We strive to reduce our negative impacts through continuous improvement in our processes and products.

“Our sustainability efforts extend beyond targets; they are about action and engagement. From supporting local communities to fostering diversity and safety in the workplace, we are committed to making a positive impact.”

As Trelleborg marked World Environment Day, it remembered that every step toward sustainability is a step toward a healthier planet. Trelleborg is proud to be Protecting the Essential.
