A Look Behind the Scenes at Trelleborg: Next-Generation Rotary Seals

Optimizing rotary systems with innovative seals
Broadcasting from the Trelleborg Innovation Center in Stuttgart, Germany, Engineering Manager, Jeff Baehl, will discuss in his keynote speech how the performance of rotating systems can be enhanced with innovative radial shaft seals. In particular, Trelleborg has improved the design of its sealing elements with radially arranged sealing lips that achieve a more efficient seal between shaft and seal, while generating less heat than previous solutions.

Following the keynote, a highlight of the event is a virtual tour of the Process Development Center in Turin, Italy. Participants will learn how Trelleborg achieves high production volumes with fully automated production and ensures the highest quality standards through testing and validation methods.
Developments in rotary sealing systems
Starting at 4:00 PM CEST, an interactive panel of experts will discuss the latest trends in rotary seals, which in engines, gearboxes and pumps ensure that lubricants stay within the system while preventing ingress of dirt and water. The panel will address the measures Trelleborg takes to optimize the precision, durability and performance of rotary applications.
Innovative materials for more sustainable rotary seals
To conclude the livestream, Dr. Konrad Saur, VP Innovation Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, will discuss how Trelleborg works with innovative materials and designs as one way of achieving its sustainability goals. The focus for this is on responsible development partnerships with customers to evaluate the best possible sealing solution early in development through simulations that meet sustainability requirements. Practical examples will show how Trelleborg helps its customers develop more durable and efficient products and how it invests heavily in the development of bio-based materials and circular processes.
“The ConneX Livestream Event is an opportunity for customers and interested parties to learn firsthand how we develop and produce high-quality next-generation rotary seals,” says Jeff Baehl. “We will discuss practical examples of how our solutions are used in industries such as off-highway, automotive, industrial automation, energy and wind power. We also look forward to engaging with our customers to share valuable insights and perspectives on the rotation technologies of tomorrow.”
The event is free and will be held in English.
